{"id":1578,"date":"2014-04-04T19:39:56","date_gmt":"2014-04-04T19:39:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.meanboyfriend.com\/overdue_books\/?p=1578"},"modified":"2014-04-04T19:39:56","modified_gmt":"2014-04-04T19:39:56","slug":"doodling-childrens-classics","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.meanboyfriend.com\/overdue_books\/2014\/04\/doodling-childrens-classics\/","title":{"rendered":"Doodling childrens classics"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This week I have been following <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Daily__Doodle\">@Daily__Doodle<\/a> &#038; the theme has been classic picture books &#038; here are my attempts.<\/p>\n<p>I was a little late to the party so ended up combining The Very Hungry Caterpilar &#038; The Cat in the Hat to create this <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.meanboyfriend.com\/overdue_books\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/20140404-204448.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.meanboyfriend.com\/overdue_books\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/20140404-204448.jpg\" alt=\"20140404-204448.jpg\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Next was Room in the Broom, I used daughter dressed for World Book Day as inspiration.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.meanboyfriend.com\/overdue_books\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/20140404-204627.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.meanboyfriend.com\/overdue_books\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/20140404-204627.jpg\" alt=\"20140404-204627.jpg\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>For the Tale of Peter Rabbit I attempted a little bit of painting &#038; decided it was time for Farmer McGregor to end up in a pie<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.meanboyfriend.com\/overdue_books\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/20140404-204801.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.meanboyfriend.com\/overdue_books\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/20140404-204801.jpg\" alt=\"20140404-204801.jpg\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The week ended with one of my favourites The Tiger Who Came to Tea but for my version the tiger ended up as a teapot, Sophie as tea cups, Sophie&#8217;s mum as a sugar bowl and her dad as the milk jug<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.meanboyfriend.com\/overdue_books\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/20140404-204956.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.meanboyfriend.com\/overdue_books\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/20140404-204956.jpg\" alt=\"20140404-204956.jpg\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This week I have been following @Daily__Doodle &#038; the theme has been classic picture books &#038; here are my attempts.
