{"id":1129,"date":"2011-03-01T13:08:23","date_gmt":"2011-03-01T12:08:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.meanboyfriend.com\/overdue_ideas\/2011\/03\/openart\/"},"modified":"2011-03-01T13:40:53","modified_gmt":"2011-03-01T12:40:53","slug":"openart","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.meanboyfriend.com\/overdue_ideas\/2011\/03\/openart\/","title":{"rendered":"OpenART"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>(presented by Julie Allinson) <a href=\"http:\/\/www.jisc.ac.uk\/whatwedo\/programmes\/inf11\/infrastructureforresourcediscovery\/openart.aspx\">OpenArt<\/a> is based on the University of York, working in partnership with the Tate and Acuity Unlimited.<\/p>\n<p>Taking &#8216;The London Art World 1660-1735&#8217; &#8211; an AHRC funded project which has currently produced data in a series of inter-linked spreadsheet &#8211; about people, places and sales (or art works) &#8211; and also about the art works (where they are currently &#8211; expect mainly in Tate Britain) and the source of the information of the sales etc. (bibliographic information)<\/p>\n<p>Can see rich set of inter-relationships &#8211; e.g. even between people can have relations like &#8216;was patron of&#8217; &#8211; see all artists with same patronage etc.<\/p>\n<p>Data will be made available via Fedora &#8211; will be normalising formats and vocabs. Probably be released in some flavour of RDF.
